MADRID, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona got back to winning ways to ensure they will end the weekend with a lead of at least 7 points over Atletico Madrid at the top of the Liga Santander table after they defeated Eibar 2-0 in the Ipurua Stadium on Saturday night.

Barca had to dig deep against one of the firm sides in the league, but the combination of Leo Messi and Luis Suarez came good again for Barca yet again with Messi setting up Suarez for the 16th minute opener.

Fabian Orellana hit the post for Eibar but made Barca's task easier in the 65th minute when he was sent off for punching the ball away for his second yellow card.

Jordi Alba confirmed Barca's win in the 88th minute after Messi's attempt to score from an Aleix Vidal cross was blocked, allowing him to slide the ball home.

Two late goals gave Valencia a dramatic win away to bottom of the table Malaga. Malaga looked to be heading for a rare home win thanks to Brown Ideye's 27 minute goal, but Francis Coquelin's header leveled the score 10 minutes from time and Dani Parejo's late penalty sent the points back to Mestalla.

Sevilla kicked off the day with a 2-1 win away to struggling Las Palmas with goals from Wissam Ben Yedder and Pablo Sarabia.

Las Palmas got into the game with an 82nd minute penalty scored by Calleri and were denied an equalizer in injury time when Alejandro Galvez had a goal incorrectly ruled out for an offside which didn't exist.

Finally Munir's 61st minute wonder goal saw Alaves beat Deportivo la Coruna 1-0 to move 10 points clear of the relegation zone and leave Deportivo second bottom with one win from nine games.
