3 gendarmes die in attack in Niger: reports

NIAMEY, March 13 (Xinhua) - At least three gendarmes were killed and another wounded on Monday night in an attack by armed men near Niger's capital of Niamey, local media reported on Tuesday.

The attack occurred in Goube, a rural commune in Karma, some 40 km from Niamey, private radio ANFANI said.

Latest reports say the attackers have been neutralized by police.

Government authorities have not yet commented on the reported attack.
