LONDON, March 14 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 6.09 points or 0.09 percent to close at 7,132.69 points.
Prudential, an international financial services group, soared 5.07 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Antofagasta and Anglo American rose by 3.46 percent and 3.34 percent, respectively.
Wm Morrison Supermarkets, the major British supermarket chain, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.86 percent.
