DOHA, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Qatar has launched three committees to resolve labor disputes and complaints, the state-run Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Monday.

The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) said the committees started its operation to resolve worker disputes that couldn't be solved by the ministry's work relations department within seven days, QNA reported.

Qatar, which came under spotlight seven years ago when it won the bid to host the World Cup in 2022, has been increasingly dependent on migrant labor as the Gulf country continues to build stadiums and develop infrastructure.

Last year, the Qatari government announced a new labor law that aimed at making it easier for migrant workers to change jobs, leave the country and file complaints.
