Mongolian mining investment forum on Sept. 6-7

ULAN BATOR, Aug. 16 (Xinhua)-- The 16th Discover Mongolia International Mining Investors Forum will be held in Ulan Bator on Sept. 6-7, the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry said Thursday.

The forum aims to highlight the business-friendly environment in Mongolia's mining and attract more investors. Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry Dolgorsuren Sumiyabazar will present government policies on mining at the forum, the ministry said.

More than 300 officials and investors from some 10 countries, including Canada, Australia, Germany and Japan, are expected to attend the forum.

The mining industry accounts for about a quarter of Mongolia's gross domestic product and some 90 percent of exports.
