Vietnamese party to consider personnel work for state president next week

HANOI, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- The 12th Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee will organize its eighth session on Oct. 2-6 to discuss important issues, including personnel work, Vietnam News Agency reported on Friday.

The CPV is expected to issue conclusions on the socioeconomic development situation in 2018 and a socioeconomic development plan and budget estimates for 2019, adopt a resolution of Vietnam's sustainable sea-based economic development strategy, consider the establishment of sub-committees in preparation for the 13th national congress of the CPV, and touch upon personnel work.

The CPV will consider the introduction of personnel to the state president position based on authorized offices' preparations and in accordance with the party's regulations.

Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, born in 1956, passed away on Sept. 21 after a long time of illness.
