TOKYO, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed at a two-month low Monday as U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin remarking that provisions to deter competitive currency devaluation in future trade deals, including those with Japan, sent exporters lower.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 423.36 points, or 1.87 percent, from Friday to end the day at 22,271.30.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 27.01 points, or 1.59 percent, to finish at 1,675.44.

Information and communication, glass and ceramic product, and transportation equipment-linked issues led those that declined the most by the close of play.
