LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- The third Great Pacific Airshow returns to Southern California this weekend, to attract some two million people with civilian and military aerobatic performers.

The three-day event, previously called the Breitling Huntington Beach Airshow in the last two years, kicked off at Huntington Beach in Orange County on Friday and will run through Sunday. This year's show will be headlined again by the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, or "Thunderbirds."

"Thunderbirds" will perform 40 maneuvers in the F-16 Fighting Falcon supersonic multirole fighter aircraft in 75 minutes air demonstration, including formation flying and solo routines.

Other performers include U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft and KC-135 Stratotanker military aerial refueling aircraft along with some civilian aircrafts, such as Jeff Bourboon's Yak-110, Michael Wiskus' S-1-11B, Lyon Air Museum's C-47 Dakota and FedEx-757 transport aircraft.

Since its launch in 2016, the airshow has seen an explosion in popularity year after year. The event attracted more than 1.5 million people to the Huntington Beach last year.
