Israel completes first national cyber security drill

JERUSALEM, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Israel completed a two-day national cyber security drill on Wednesday, the Prime Minister's Office said.

The "Magic Circle" drill, the first of its kind in Israel in terms of complexity and the variety of participants, simulated scenarios of cyber-attacks on government and public bodies, as well as sectors in the Israeli economy.

The drill, conducted by the Israel National Cyber Directorate at the Prime Minister's Office, involved government ministries, local municipalities and Israeli security, transportation and energy bodies.

The aim of the drill was to continue improving the level of national preparedness for cyber-attacks, while strengthening cooperation between various parties.

"We have successfully completed the largest national exercise ever conducted, as part of ongoing for Israel's national preparedness for a cyber attack," said Yigal Unna, head of the National Cyber Directorate.
