CHARIKAR, Afghanistan, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Three civilians including a 10-year-old child have been confirmed dead and four others injured in an overnight air raid in Jabal Saraj district of Afghanistan's Parwan province, provincial police chief Mohammad Mahfouz Walizada said.

The operations with the objective of arresting a suspected insurgent named Mohammad Wazir was launched in the wee hours of Friday in Deh Bala area, some 75 km north of Kabul, the official said.

The operation "unfortunately was not in coordination with provincial police" and that was why it led to harming civilians, he said.

Meantime, hundreds of locals took the bodies to Jabal Saraj bazaar as a sign of protest, blaming the government for negligence and alleged that "unmanned plane of foreign forces" dropped bomb on a house in residential area killing three civilians and injuring four others.

Neither the NATO-led Resolute Support mission nor Afghan defense ministry has made comment.
