BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- FIFA president Gianni Infantino arrived in Argentina on Friday to attend the decisive second leg of the Copa Libertadores final between local rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate.

The 48-year-old Swiss was welcomed at Ezeiza international airport on the outskirts of Buenos Aires by Argentine Football Association (AFA) President Claudio Tapia.

"Welcome back to our home, president Gianni Infantino," Tapia wrote in a twitter post that included two photos of the pair.

Infantino will watch Saturday's game at River's Monumental Stadium and participate in the post-match presentations before immediately flying back to Europe.

The first leg at Boca's La Bombonera finished in a 2-2 draw.
