BEIRUT, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's Amal Movement, which is headed by Speaker Nabih Berri, said Sunday that the new Lebanese government should be ready to face any possible "Israeli aggressions" on the country's sovereignty and territories, the National News Agency reported.

"The Lebanese should know that Lebanon's sole enemy is Israel and the power of this country lays in its unity, its army and its resistance," it said.

Amal Movement Member Qabalan Qabalan made the comments during a popular rally in Kfar Hatta in South Lebanon.

"We should keep our eyes open to Israeli's plans," he said.

"We must not forget that the enemy is targeting our security, unity and wealth. This enemy, which was defeated by the resistance, continues to place Lebanon in the circle of its aggression," he added.

Israeli warplanes have been violating Lebanon's airspace for the past few months, prompting Lebanese President Michel Aoun to call on the United States to pressure Israel to stop such practices.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said over a week ago that his party will certainly use all its power to respond if Israel wages a war against Lebanon.

Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah fought a month-long war in 2006 which ended in a cease-fire.
