QALA-E-NAW, Afghanistan, May 28 (Xinhua) -- A pro-government militia commander named Dost Mohamad Yasini along with three of his fighters were killed in the western Badghis province on Tuesday, provincial governor's spokesman Jamshid Shahabi said.

Yasini and his fighters were going to provincial capital Qala-e-Naw Tuesday morning when Taliban militants ambushed his motorcade, killing him along with three others, the official added.

Two pro-government militiamen were injured, Shahabi further said.

Taliban militants have intensified their activities since launching the group's annual offensive on April 12.
