LAS VEGAS, June 3 (Xinhua) -- A new global artificial intelligence (AI) event by Amazon on machine learning, automation, robotics and outer space kicks off this week, according to the U.S. tech giant.

Business and technical leaders will join to learn, experience, and share how these fields will shape the future.

Leading experts across science, academia, and business are expected to share the latest research and scientific advancements, industry innovation, and their perspective on how these domains will evolve.

More than 100 sessions will be held during the June 4-7 event at the ARIA Resort in Las Vegas. Participants will also have chances to experience the Blue Origin New Shepard crew capsule, and witness cutting-edge robotics demos.

Amazon leaders including Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO, and Jeff Wilke, CEO of Worldwide Consumer, will provide their perspective on Amazon's AI heritage and investment in innovation.

The event also has other featured speakers including Colin Angle, chairman and CEO of iRobot, Robert Downey Jr., famous actor and producer, and Patrick Zeitouni, head of advanced development program of the aerospace company Blue Origin.

"We're at the beginning of a golden age of AI. Recent advancements have already led to invention that previously lived in the realm of science fiction -- and we've only scratched the surface of what's possible," said Bezos.
