NEW YORK, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese fashion designer Li Yalan received a round of applause from the audience on Thursday as her brand Blancore made its first appearance at New York Fashion Week.

Li presented 40 looks that incorporated geometric cut and subtle color palettes with special details on neckline and waistline to imitate different forms of water, such as frost, mist and cloud.

Founder and creative director of the two-year-old brand, Li said she drew inspiration from water for the latest collection because it coincides with the brand's slogan: forget about the boundaries.

She said water is the source of all things. It infuses everything in every realm with vitality, representing limitless possibility everywhere.

Like water, people are born of different nationality and ethnicity, but they nevertheless should all be able to push the limits and break the boundaries, said Li, adding that the brand wishes to help its customers to find themselves with its designs.

Born in southwest China's city of Chengdu, Li is among about a dozen young Chinese designers who have sprung up in the global fashion arena in recent years.

Chen Youting, chief marketing officer of the brand, said the brand opened its first franchise store in Chengdu this year and inked deals with more than 30 showrooms worldwide. The company is now gearing up to open its first multi-purpose showroom in lower Manhattan.

The semiannual New York Fashion Week kicked off on Wednesday, presenting the works of dozens of designers, which will set new trends for 2020 spring and summer.
